The Surveying Industry From a Female Perspective – Podcast Featuring Beccy Jenkins
Our very own Chartered Building Surveyor and Blog Laureate, Beccy Jenkins, featured on a recent ‘Love Surveying’ podcast with Michaela Perry-Kay, another Surveyor, where they discussed the Surveying industry from a female perspective.
Beccy spends a vast majority of her time with Sussex Surveyors working on party wall matters, writing specifications of works and inspecting defects in residential homes. She enjoys the personal interactions that take place as part of her work and believes that protecting our existing housing stock is important from both a sustainable and economical perspective.
Beccy also has a particular interest in the conservation of historic properties and is a professional member of SPAB as well as an active member of the The Pyramus and Thisbe Club, a professional group which aims to maintain and increase the professionalism of Party Wall Surveyors.
As female surveyors, Beccy and Michaela share thoughts on what it means to be a woman in what many still perceive to be a male-dominated industry. This led to a fascinating and insightful discussion with the podcast host, Marion Ellis.
